Teethers are wonderful, but are you looking for something that holds your baby’s interest a little longer? Toy makers know what parents desire, so you can easily find toys that have multiple functions. Finding a teether that doubles as a rattle is easily available.

Maybe your little guy is showing an interest in colors, sounds, or even cause and effect. There are so many delightful baby toys that tap into these development milestones. Hand your baby a toy phone and watch him learn which buttons to push to hear his favorite sounds. He can even get an introductory to shapes, colors, letters and numbers.

Babies are always learning, taking in the sights and sounds around them. A baby toy can introduce a newborn to textures and subtle music. As baby grows, she may express an interest in dolls helping her develop her nurturing side. He may light up at the sight of cars and airplanes causing more physical playtime.

I looked at a lot of these ride-on toys for my 10 month old son…This one is nice and sturdy with the four wheels.

…Granted, it’s the perfect height for a toddler to hold onto and push the toy. Still a great toy!

Developmental and still having fun…

One Year Later and Still Loving It

…He rides on it, pushes it around, uses it as a step stool, or just pushes the buttons….

I’m not sure I would call this educational. But…I would consider it a good developmental toy… loves to run around, bounce to the music, and laugh.

That is when I know it has been a good toy.

…Ever since we got it he has played with it every day.

He loves pushing it and riding it and surfing on it (not that its really intended for that one).

He stores things in it and rides it all over the house.

…It gives great amusement for younger babies as they can push, pull, climb, ride, poke, stick and listen to this little train for hours.

My daughter started using it at around 10 months old, I know the box says 1 year but she loved this toy at her cousin’s house.

If you have a inquisitive baby, this is the toy to get him or her.

oh so fun for her!! my daughter loves it.

i got it for her when she was around 18 months and now at 2.5 she still takes it out here

…was a good learning tool in terms of shapes, colors, and basic objects. only thing is the mouse. it’s so unnecessary. it barely moves

This reviewer is impressed with the durability AND how baby and brother love the toy…

AWESOME!!!!!!!

My adorable nephew loved the toy as well as his older brother who kept taking it away from him…

The lights are bright enough that it distracts the kids and apparently babies are fascinated…

He has gotten into a habit of throwing this toy off his high chair…The good thing is that the toy still functions with no outward or inner signs of damage.

Normally a new toy is exciting for a day or two and he’s done, but this still keeps him entertained.

The wheel settings are great, the slower speed allows him to learn to push without the toy running away from him on the wood floors, and the faster speed works great on carpets. I know all babies are different, but for my picky kid (who would rather attempt to play with mommy and daddy’s plain black remote control than the nice, bright, shiny toy remote we bought him), this has been a big hit.

This reviewer is happy that parents were considered when designing this toy. Rare tolerable noisy plastic toy, September 2, 2014 By EmilyP This review is from: VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker I do not like to purchase noisy plastic toys but this one came from the grandparents when my daughter was a baby. Thankfully, the makers of this thing had parents in mind when they added a high/low volume switch as well as an on/off switch.

My daughter enjoyed pushing it around as she learned to walk. She particularly was drawn to the little barn door and would open and shut it for an unbelievable amount of time. As she got older, it was all about that little phone. It would go in the car with us and all over the house, rarely residing in its place on the toy itself.

I liked that the main toy deck could be removed and she enjoyed sitting with it to play on the couch. She became uninterested in it around 18m but it was the only noisy plastic toy that got packed away instead of donated! When my son was 6 months old we dug it out and he was instantly drawn to it just as his sister was. By 7m he was strolling around the house pushing this little toy like he owned the place. It took everything I had not to push him down and pack it away again. If he walks before 9m, I blame this toy!

A classic which still pleases!, August 28, 2014 By Berlee Verified Purchase This review is from: Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Rock-a-Stack (Baby Product) I realize most children start with this toy at a very early age, but we just got this for my 19 month old to share with her new little sister and she won’t stop playing with it. So, I’d say it is a toy which has longevity. I wish the red ring wasn’t the one with the little balls in it, but obvioulsy that doesn’t bother my daughter.
